I picked these up recently, one being about half an inch and the other about an inch in length.
I just want to know when they're from and the caliber of gun?

You have to measure the diameter at the base of the bullet. The large one looks like a civil war era musket bullet.
The 1 on the right appears to be a Minie' Ball for a .58" cal. muzzle loading rifle & will probably measure approx. .577" dia.. The other looks like it may be a .38 cal. pistol bullet from probably the early thru mid 1900's but could be earlier.
Blunderbuss has the first one right, and the second comes out to about 1/4th" across the base.
Thank you both.
Well, the 2nd one is a .22 cal. & probably a "long rifle". Sure looked a bit bigger than .25 to me.
It's slightly elongated, so who knows. I measured the shorter side.
Measure both the short and long diameter of the small bullet. I would guess .25 auto.
A .58 cal muzzle loading rifled musket is pretty much the same thing as a civil war era musket.
So we are thinking they're both Civil War-era, then?
Not the smaller one.
Thank you, Blunderbuss.
