I used to sit in my great grandmother's lap in this chair, and am now facing a dilemma. It costs too much for me to re-upholster, and my wife wants me to give it to Goodwill to get it out of garage.
It is unique in that it is a "sliding recliner". It rotates on a rounded base on copper straps. The manufacturer ( and inventor) is shown on the label photo.
It is not really that old, but patent was applied for around 1929. I can't find any more info on it. Can anyone help, and is it just a common piece?
My whole house, garage and storage unit are filled with my grandparent's and parent's old stuff. I am drowning in the past here!
