Red Indian Gas was a Canadian Brand of gas made by the Frontenac Company who eventually sold out to Texaco. Their logo was incredibly beautiful and we are thrilled to have a Clear Vision 700 Canadian Gas Pump to go along with a rare 6' Frontenac sign on a rare "property line" pole in the Lakeside Storage Museum in Provo, Ut. While the fun is really in the hunt, it is also when we finally get a sign or pump ready for display as well.

How many poles you got up now?
    6. Rattletrap Rattletrap, 8 years ago
      Trey,
Hmmmm? I'll have to count them? Maybe 50-60? Hard to keep track as we're always adding new ones & we keep putting footings in for others so I lose track. Old age doesn't hep either.

      Trey,
We got the sign from a guy in Texas and paid $1100 I think? Plus freight of about $300? They're nearly impossible to find and we have the only one in Utah so far.

Great price on that sign:) 50-60 whoa you been busy!!

      Trey,
I got thinking about it and it's about 60 on poles and probably another 60-70 on buildings. Yes I'm nuts, but I love the hunt and it's what I do. I just follow your example but at a slower pace.

      Trey,
Ha Ha! U are our Mentor and we just wish we could be as good as you ar at finding cool stuff. We have been lucky and found a few Pickers that have found a lot of stuff for us which has given us volume, but as far as finding it ourselves, we look to u as "the pro". Keep on Huntin and we will pick up your left overs. We mostly just want Big porcelain signs so if u find any u can't use let us know and we will buy them.

Never heard it stated that way, but that's exactly how I feel when I "find a new vein" . I've told my wife that we are both lucky that the gold bug never bit me and it is just the sign bug that has me captured. Well, signs and gas pumps, and planes. What will be next is the question? There have been other obsessions in the past! Lol

Well it never hurts to have help I always say:) I have a couple of pickers and one of them is starting to collect too LOL he was inspired by my CW page! I've created a monster!! Everything extra I had I traded to him for some great signs and a 10 gallon visible fry pump.

      Trey,
I have the same experience with my friends that Pick and Collect. My biggest problem these days is that the good original sources seem to be drying up and it gets harder and harder to find the big signs that people used to not collect. Now lots of people collect the big signs so it drives the prices up, quality down, and makes availability much more difficult. We are now driving farther AND paying more which is a bad combination! Auctions are bringing higher prices as demand goes up and good deals are getting rarer and rarer. Sign Gurus like you manage to still get the deals, which gives us hope! Keep on huntin!

      AmatoorPikr,
Thx for the love it. I can't imagine why we don't have hundreds of Love it's with this rare and very cool sign and gas pump? Few have ever even seen one of these in their lives.
