I found these lamps at a thrift store and they immediately stood out to me. I don't know what it was about them, they are so ugly, yet I was drawn to them.
That first day at the thrift store, there was only one lamp, it was priced at $10. I hemmed and hawed over it, but decided not to take it and left. However, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I decided to go back the next day to see if it was still there, and to my surprise, overnight they had multiplied! :p Now there were 2 of them! I snatched them both up and headed to the check out.
They measure about 24" tall from the bottom to the base of the light socket and are made of ceramic (I think). You can see in one of the pictures the red and chrome paint or glaze over the ceramic on one of the edges.
They have no markings at all, so if anyone knows any info about them, I'd love to hear it!
DYI PROJECT??
Could they be Mercury Glass Lamps ??
Rose, 4th pic look just above chrome ring, paint drips, looks like it was once a baby blue color porcelain lamp at one time.
They look great with your lounge and painted brick wall. Great setting!
Dizzydave, it looks blue on the picture, but it's actually white. I don't think it was a DYI project, I think the drips are probably from when they were manufactured.
