I recall the Prell Shampoo commercials back in the 60s. The shampoo would be tossed to someone who wouldn't catch it who would then exclaim that it didn't break. Do not recall shampoo being sold in glass bottles back then so the ads made little sense to me. But apparently others remembered when shampoo was sold in glass bottles.
Dixie Laborites Inc. came into existence in 1939 and that is the only solid piece of information I have as for the time period for this. There is still a Dixie Laboratories in Decatur, Ga just like like the original but I am not sure if they are the same company. The current one does not make products.
As to the shampoo it is 2.5% percent alcohol. Not sure if I should drink it or wash my hair with it.
Neat bottle never seen one of these.
At first glance I did think it a spirit. Isn't Guinness good for hair??
YIKES! Earlier bottles said "Note mild BURNING sensation"! I had an old Prell glass bottle I picked up at estate sale - and I used the shampoo. I loved the smell of old Prell! THIS shampoo? I would be afraid it would melt my scalp!

Thank you very much Caperkid. Wasy first too.
Thank you very much racer4four. Would not use guiness on my head as that is alcohol abuse.
Thank you very much Celiene. Works well as a dandruff shampoo I suppose Probably wouldn't make it past the FDA today. Don't get it in your eyes.
Now, that is interesting! BTW, is that a Mighty Mouse bottle in the last pic?
Thank you very much Scott. Yes that is a Mighty Mouse Soakie bottle.
Thank you

Thank you very much Trey. I think it is more like Guiness but stronger.
