They were popular during the late 60's to probably late 70's, early 1980. This one sometime in the early 1970's. A lot of them have a label on bottom of marble saying made in italy. There was mass production of these at that time. The tops were made of marble on the tables usually, sometimes if lucky it was a beautiful black marble. They never seem to have a maker name attached. There was a huge import business from italy of these plaster or composition made Italian Import lamps and many businesses set up specifically for these products and the ones that came out of California also. During the 1990's I found many of these items at the gararge sales in Canada. I loved finding them. Sometimes I found beautiful black marble topped tables where I would save the top which would have been very expensive to buy in black with gold veins. They produced many plaster statues, plaster lamps and plaster/composition tables, some very inventive.
