I'm guessing when I say it's a lever clasp - I don't have the first idea what it's called, as I have never seen a handbag with that kind of closure.
Anybody know what the proper name is for this clasp?
Hans Schins Fijne Lederware shop in Heerlen ( Hans Schins Fine Leatherware Heerlen) doesn't exist anymore in Heerlen (a town not far from me) or anywhere else. The company registered in 1920. The handbag is in really exceptional condition. My friend, Geri, looked at the bag today and said her grandmother had one like that with that sort of a clasp, but she didn't know what it's called, either....
Thanks to anyone who can help!

hope it helps!
Hi fleafinder - thanks for the link, but I've already seen it. The website is Italian and the language in the description of the green hand bag is in German. I don't know what the museum connection is, though:
Istituzione:
Museo provinciale degli usi e costumi
Happy to see you are not the only one who gets distracted. :)
