    I received this carved table from an old friend who had it for many years. I am looking for information on the origin time, artist, place, etc. It has the number 13 carved on the bottom of the table and bottom of the hinged legs. It's a two piece. The top rests on a tongue and groove type area created. Any knowledge and information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

      Your side table was made in India, and has inlaid Mother-Of-Pearl. Not possible to track down the artist. The number 13 could be the style/design reference. The majority of these sorts of tables have round or octagonal tops. I did find another one with a rectangular top, but don't think yours is as old as this one:
