This appears to be 4 separate thin sections that have been hand sewn together. The sections are not particularly straight as can be seen in picture. Based on the variation of yellow on one of the stripes may not have been done at the same time. New batch of dye or something.
The top edge has attached a piece of cotton like a long loop - only thing i can think of is to slide a curtain rod or dowel to use as window covering or doorway or something.

this is a beautiful piece!! i think it's either Bolivian or Peruvian.
actually, it could be from anywhere in mexico, central or south american, now that i think of it!
i was thinking mexico at first as well
