    This was a gift from a friend. It is a sand art painting. It says Rainbow Yu and Johnson on the back.

      There are a Lot of Johnson who did this Native American Sand Art. Hard to tell which one??

      That would be Rainbow "Yei" not "Yu." The Yei are the holy figures in the Navajo culture/religion. The Navajo are the only tribe that makes this type of sand paintings for the tourist trade.

      It may be difficult to determine the first name of the artist. Sand painters with the last name Johnson include Darlene, Heather, Jeanette, Lester, Rita, and "R."...and likely many others.
