Hi there!
My name is Karen. I purchased a home recently and requested to keep this natural beauty. I am obsessed with the Victorian era!
Could anyone tell me anything at all about this piece?
The year ?
The value?
The owner of the home I purchased did tell me that the sofa is reupholstered. That's unfortunately all I know.

It is a Victorian tufted back sofa Eastlake Style. Very nice! I'll bet my last dollar it was reupholstered in the 1970s...
It is worth what anyone is willing to pay for it.
I love the carved 'tassels' on the back.
As celiene said it is Victorian Eastlake. It is PART of a set-- missing the chairs.
Not in vogue at all right now-- and a very hard sell.
These were very popular in the 90s and earlier, but today's prices are a fraction of those days.

I do have the chairs as well (one green and, one gold.)
I spoke to an appraiser and he recommended to price it for $200.
What do the two of you think?
Maybe I should just keep this sofa and wait.. perhaps years down the road it will increase in value?

Rightnow, Mid Century Modern is white hot. Eastlake will come around again. Everything does!
