This appears to be a hat badge, as it has broken mounting tangs on the back & no other markings. Says: "Highland Sports Groups" & below: "For Loyal Services". Made of stamped aluminium & certainly not a fake. It is 7 cm/2.75" X 5.5 cm/2 1/4".
Can anybody shed some light on the activity this was made for ?
Jacky hates this stuff & refuses to help except with translations. She is in Berlin now & they have not been warned ! She has the potential to make the Battle of Berlin look like a minor irritation !

This is the same design, but solid & a "repro". with no background. I really appreciate the effort you made. If repros. were made, it must have represented something maybe important back then. 1938 may have been Bavaria ? (Highland Gruppe) 1FG, worry about Berlin instead of Jacky ! She got fired from a boat (again) last week, got drunk, accused a mutual friend of stealing her passport & me of having an unlicensed gun to the police. Friend didn't have her passport & I don't have a gun (now!). The police called me & warned me !

Caper, that's an "Island Rolls". It's a Mini-Moke. These were UK "jeeps" made for tropical areas, but with UK eng. cooling systems. As soon as they hit the tropics, you have to remove the thermostats & put a 12 blade radiator fan on them & they still over heat in tropical traffic ! The "Limeys" just refuse to accept that other climates exists ! Like the old VW's, the tooling was sold to Brazil & made there. Causes confusion when needing parts as to where they were made. (UK vs metric). I've had a number of Mini's & they are fun. The Moke's box frame rusts out fast & you just can't undercoat them enough or well enough. Does that answer your question "Grasshopper" ? LOL !!

I'll see what I can find caper. They weren't exactly the center of my old pix. Have one of my "Silver Bullet" as it arrived at the docks in Kingston. Missed the boat & after 2 weeks on the docks, it didn't take dogs to smell the sensi !! LOL !! Lost that one ! LOL !! Really like the "Silver Bullet", but didn't try to buy it at auction ! LOL !! Fun days !
