I live in TN and it looks to be a standard TN state flag from what you are showing.

If you are asking about the symbolism-- you can search for TN State Flag and find the information.

      Probably 1950s- 60s flag.

there are a few theories or thoughts on the 3 stars for the TN flag:
      1. the 3 "grand" divisions of the state
      2. the 3 presidents elected from the state
      3. TN was the 3rd state to join the union after the initial 13
    8. scottvez scottvez, 9 years ago
It was for the three regions-- don't think #2/ #3 are accurate.

only stating 'theories'/'stories', each which may have merit, or not. Agree, the strongest is the regions of the state, which is why that was given no. 1......

No need for "theories" or to perpetuate myths/ misinformation when the designer of the flag (Leroy Reeves) is on record stating the three stars represented the "Grand Divisions" or regions.

they are only theories in respect to any relationship to the TN flag, otherwise they are fact. Nice to know you have the 'record'...
    12. scottvez scottvez, 9 years ago
They are no longer "theories" when they have been proven to be incorrect.

At that point they would be considered myths/old wives tales/ incorrect information.

      Here is the record:

Taught in TN Schools. Multiple sources online to include the State of TN.

      YES, it is TRUE.

Of course if you'd like to continue to spread the myths-- have at it. Just don't get surprised when some choose to correct and promote the FACTS.

Maybe you should consider researching rather than guessing or posting myths as facts.

Off topic: Hey Scott, Would you do me a favor and comment on what you see wrong with the CW US buckle I posted last week? You have commented on other folk's buckles, so I know you have a good eye. Eventually I want to get an real buckle so it's important that I know the signs.

      Chris
