Sorry I have not been on for quite a while now.
Last time I communicated that I was still trying to locate the last 9 known remaining Jema Clocks somewhere out there in this big world.

Today I bring some excitement having finally scored a beautiful large Jema Holland Mother and Fawn Clock numbered 459.

As per all large Jema Holland Clocks it comes with a large wind up mechanism in good working order as is the ceramic clock.

As always feel free to ask questions and of course happy to receive any comments.

    Happy Treasure Hunting and viewing.

Hi racer4four. Yes this is one of the 9 and so was the Riccoco. Only 7 known ones left to seek out and I will have the full Jema Collection. Thank you for your congratulations.

Congrats on finding this example. I don't see any windup keys on the back and have noticed a sweep seconds hand. Has this clock been converted into a battery powered quartz? It's a nice looking example in any case. Thanks for sharing your collection with us!

Hi Bruce, It came without the keys which I soon replaced after fixing the mechanism. The red hand is in fact the alarm hand. I have a few Jemas with the large clock mechanisms with these large red hands as the alarm. They still are Mercedes/ German wind up mechanisms.

I'd say they are originals still.

Thankyou for your comments and thankyou's.

      Cheers Hutchy777

      Hi Hutchy,
Okay, that explains a lot. Thanks for taking the time to do so. I'm glad it wasn't converted to a battery-powered quartz clock. I usually hate when that happens! Thanks again for sharing so much of your collection with us! :)

Hi Bruce99, you sound just like me, I absolutely hate it when I see a jema Holland Clock converted and fitted out with a, "Gasp"!!!! Dare I say modern Battery Mechanism. I have purchased about 5 Jemas over the years with glued in Batter Mechanisms, bodgy as jobs i might add.
Luckily having some spares in all cases I managed to removed the offending mechanisms and refitted the beautiful original Jema Mechanisms to ensure the true history of Jema remains. I always wonder "WHY"??? the original mechanisms have been removed and what became of them..... understanding if the mechanism is broke they want a working clock but if you own a Jema then surely one would find the moola to repair the little wee rippa.. anyway, we can all ponder that thought.
