Here is a King James bible printed 1618. It was found in a storage locker.
It is missing front and back covers. 1 page is missingPrinted by Thomas Sternhold and John Hopkins and others .
There are notes of provenance the earliest I can tell is dated 1709.
An interesting find!
It is possible to restore it, as I've re-attached/replaced boards (covers) before, but it would likely not be worth it monetarily. To do it yourself would require much time and research (to do it safely so as to not have it damage the Book or deteriorate down the road.)
The Bible was the first Book (really a series) printed on a machine, and it has remained the Best Seller since.
Any engravings in it?
Yes there are some engraving i post more picture.
mechanically reproduced.
