This is an E Ingraham clock that has been in our family as long as I can remember. I am trying to find the year and model name if applicable. I can't find any other of his mantle clocks that are like this with roman numerals on the front. I don't think anything has been removed and replaced, aka the handles on the side are placed opposite from most I see online. Any information is appreciated.
Serial number should be on back of clockwork, open back and look for numbers on brass, will be stamped in metal. Post numbers and We can solve.
It looks like "Adian" model but someone has tinkered with it, painted the white in, should be all same color. Handles put on upside down, and not so sure if the black scroll in white area is correct? But look for those numbers.
Dizzydave, I honestly think the handles were like that, and I know what you mean,the ones I see online have been the other way but I have seen two that were like this. I really don't think anyone has ever touched this other than winding it but that stopped years ago and it just sat. As for the white, I dont' know, it's been white all my life. For the serial numbers, do I have to take anything out? I can open the back door but still not sure where to look.
Do this open back and take closeup of mechanics. It should have numbers on the brass clockworks inside. White paint under magnification show someone painted it long ago.

You should really post a photo which shows the entire clock case. We can't see the entire top of the case for example. You should also provide case measurements. Based on what we can see, it looks like you have a "Premo No. 1" from circa 1928. Dave is right, the handles are on upside down and it has been refinished.
I took three pictures of the inside back but if there are serial numbers they aren't visible to the eye. Can you post more than four pictures to this site?
I did find one almost identical to this but it sold at auction, the part that made me notice was it had white in the space between the columns, well it was a yellowed white. Not saying somebody didn't do something to this before 1960 but then it was also done to one other.

The serial numbers won't give you answers to the questions you've asked. You'll need to either remove the dial or the movement to see the front surface of the front plate. That's typically where you'll find patent dates, etc. on Ingraham movements from this period. The link Dave provided is to my website (Test of Time Antique Clocks). So once again, based on what you've shown in your cropped photo(s), you have a model that Ingraham called their "Premo No. 1" which is from circa 1928. It has been altered. Someone refinished the case because Ingraham didn't paint their Black Enameled Wood Case Clocks like that and as Dizzydave has already told you, the side ornaments are on upside down.
