This pin is about 1" in length. It sits aproximately 1/2" high and is very detailed. The metal work on this piece is quite beautiful, although it is unmarked. It appears to have carving marks rather than having been poured or molded as a piece, but I don't have the equipment to view it closely. It is breathtakingly simple and elegant.
It may look carved, but it isn't. A jewelry maker wouldn't take the time to carve a design in a base metal brooch. Also, the brooch has a manufactured rivet hinge.
