I bought this box at a charity store.
Last year,I bought some jewelry at the store and need a box for them
It doesnt look like jewelry box at all!
But I like that it looks strong and solid.
I am pretty sure that it's not a silver box because you can see in ladt photo
There is a scratch shows the copper color...
It was super dirty,I tried to clean but it still looks dirty
There is a hallmark and it signed Made in England.
Thank you that spending time with my post!
What an interesting find! Yes, it is silver plated. Buy yourself a can of silver polish and some round make remover pads. Softly polish it and it will come up like new.
Super !! That Armoured Arm is a mark of sorts....a CREST MARK. We had some silverware from around 1780's with the Lion Passant on it....but it also had a engraved Cubit arm cuffed with arrow.
That Crest mark better be checked out, In my opinion.
The Victoria and Albert Museum ( in London ) had mentioned a published book to me on Crest marks....but I forget the name

I know it means something on the mark based upon:
~ the length of arm show
~ what part of the arm is used
~ Clothed, or gloved, or armored is used
~ Battle item whether it is a Sword, Arrow, or flowers or whatever.
That is a A+++ mark to have !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much Efesgirl and antiquerose!!!!!
Well,if I don't know this website!
I will never pay much attention to mu stuffs at home!
I posted the photos on a site that people talk about silver and hallmarks.
They said this box is a product of
Charles Howard Collins - 1890
:)))
I don't piss off anymore that I lost a tube of toothpaste to clean it!
