Need help identifying this very small (size 3 or4) gold ring designed as a graduation ring would be with the year on each side of the ring and also on the front. The letter NGS are inscribed on the front also with the design being a masted ship.
I would think the ship should be a clue to its origin.
There is a long list of acronyms for the letters NGS and I have spent considerable time chasing the most common ones with no luck.
Being found in Narragansett R.I. I immediately thought it would be a local school but cannot find any schools in the area for 1930.
mfg by the Peters co. which turns out to be H.W. Peters jewelry company from Boston Mass.
The owners initials are inscribed inside and I would love to be able to continue my research and trace the family name if possible. Of course the owner would be passed by now.
