This is of interest as I think it shows an enamelled tetraskelion design which, as we know, after the 1920s took on other horrific connotations from its subversion by the Nazis.

I don't think this is a piece of Nazi glass, however, I think it is Graeco-Roman in influence and deserves to be shown. There is an excellent wiki article on the fylflot/ tetraskelion at

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika

What the wiki article misses is the use of the fylflot / tetraskelion in Judaea and Syria in the post-Roman age.

As to provenance, it was bought in France and is unmarked so French? Italian? Czech? The highly glossy patches on the base are interesting but don't add.

It is 14.2cm high x 16.7cm across. I would be interested to know what others think of its provenance. I am putting it in as general as I can at the mo.

Very interesting design Ian. Besides tetraskelion, it reminds me of a Greek key pattern. I hope you're able to find some info on it.

Beautiful so beautiful, you know that that pattern is pretty common in Milano. The article is in Italian but the title is something the Svastica that inspired Hitler

I think that it is Italian, Murano or north Italy

I think its Anton Ruckl, by shape, the color and the frost finish
