We were in an antique store Nov. 2014 and purchased this FireTruck for $90 with the intent of restoration. An impulse
buy. I never restored anything before so this was new to me. Watching American Pickers made me aware of the appeal of these cars. I committed myself to doing the best in restoring it. After a 18 months I feel satisfied with the result. I didn't know there were so many companies out there to assist in parts and decals, etc. They made it easy to say the least. Dremal tools, a sand-blasting box and other tools were part of the process. I'm looking for another project to undertake, hopefully a good deal comes along in the near future.

A straight shift now or automatic ? Nice job. Did you make the ladders or did they come with the decals ? LOL ! The curve to your windscreen frame looks better & a better fit than the original.

Thanks for the nice comments, they're really appreciated.
The ladder is homemade. Wood, cherry stain and lacquer (5 coats). More fun to make than to purchase.
      Now onto the next project...
