      I believe it to be 1964.

      I just looked up JR hallmarks ,Sorry Date letters and My eyes are do hard to see, many look almost alike.... :)

      Thanks for the help to all, it's great to see collectors helping solve a mystery together, it reminds me of the old days before it became a site for people to boast about how cheap they found things for.

      Most of us being enthusiasts do it for research. Btw. people easily attribute ``things they bought cheaply`` to wishful thinking periods, designers, makers etc. Let them stay happy, I seldom engage.

      Thanks Ivan I realise the enthusiasts enjoy helping solve puzzles, I am no good at solving and am more into finding things.
