I was told this is a Trimble box for the ignition system of a Model A or Model T.
Both main faces are flat, one saying "Ford" in script and the other being held down by two nails. Neither open. Box has been jointed and sanded for finishing after it was put together.
There was a rubber gasket, it looks like, and a red piece of paper in the metal itself, but I've not been able to get anything off (using my fingers) to try and see what it looks like inside/if the paper says anything.
Anyone know more?
What is a Trimble box?
You did read my posting, right?
This is an ignition coil for a model T Ford . One of four required . The box contains a primary and secondary coil and a foil capacitor . Worth little unless the points are replaced and the capacitor , AND you have a Model T Ford .
Interesting. I just thought it was neat, Slack Jack.
