(100 items)
I have not been able to find much information about this pewter tea caddy (found on an antiques market), produced by a company called Kut Hing around 1900. The caddy is marked on the bottom and inside the lid with the company name and the name of the city, Swatow (now Shantou), a trading port from 1860. It is nicely decorated with a dragon in the side (common for Kut Hing items, apparently) and bamboo on the lid. It's a little battered here and there, but I guess that is common with the relatively soft pewter. I have very limited knowledge of Asian art - perhaps someone can add more info?
Height: 10 cm (4 in.)
It's a wonderful caddy. Jensen maybe this Facebook group could help?
