My dad found this desk. Anyone know if it worth anything or how old? It has a tree in the wood. It has a lock on it and we do have the key.

I think you'll find it has no monetary value. It is in very poor condition. Also, it's not very old. Sorry it's not better news.

      Disagree!

It looks to be solid oak and with a little work (cannot see the legs) could be used today.

The size is a plus as it could work as a desk in a small apartment.

I would say more than a little work - the top has fallen in and is badly damaged - and more. It's been painted green on the inside at one time. I don't think that if it is oak is a good enough reason for an overhaul of this size. Sorry - I apologise if I'm offending any one.

I don't see: "top fallen in" nor "green painted interior".

There is edge damage to the drop and some small surface holes. Also, I would assume that the top pull knob was added when the key was lost, so it needs to be removed (and some patching).

Really not a lot of work to get this one in workable condition from what I see!

Some additional photos will help in determining the age.

Can you add a picture of the entire desk with legs?

I think it is worth it. It is made of REAL Wood ( not pressed crap ) and can be restored. I think it has character and does have some value. Some people would just love to rub that real wood and re-condition. I would keep it !! I love the character !

~ may we have some pics? Just start another post ( part 2) of this one and post 4 more pics for us
