BTW this one is fab too! I bet it is heavy. And from the 1800's again??? I think they seek you out!

thank you shareurpassion : ) I do use my cake stands for b'days and such, but don't get into heavily decorated cakes. I have a few cakes on stands in the food section of my website. Here's a link to an anniversary cake on a milk glass stand for a niece from a few years ago:

I have to tell you, I am laughing because that is exactly why I ate the top of my wedding cake the day after the wedding!!! It was sooo good that I wasn't about to try to eat it a year after it was in the freezer getting knocked around...no way! It was delicious too...

What a lovely cake stand, I haven't seen that one before and a perfect gift for your niece! You are just too smart because that is what everyone should know about their year old caketop! How sweet are you!

thank you : ) that cake stand is in the grouping of milk glass from 4 years ago but the details don't show due to the way the group was stacked and photographed.

OMG! Where do I start? The lion head glass cake stand is crazy amazing. I haven't seen that here! But the dueling hummers!!! What a very cool shot. and in so many ways. You can just see the tension! Beside that fact that you caught them both in non-flight mode! Who does that??? haha And the food too.

You can see I bounced around there a bit. I'll go back there and look at more eye candy. Thanks for that link. You did the article this year, right? Or they did the article on you, I should say... Speaking of cameras, I got one in Jan this yr...good price but much too much of a camera for me. It's still way over my head and I'm fighting it to learn just the basics. I thought I was getting the Canon 50D, turns out I got the 500D It's great for 'air shows' but that's not what I needed it for!

I can't believe your amazing collection, and I thought I had seen a lot of it!

What a lovely web site. The cakes are amazing, particularly the first one - just beautiful. Who'd of thunk the man who collects cake stands and knows everything there is to know about patterns, makers, and dates bakes scrumptious cakes.

So glad you put a link to your site.

thank you both for the kind words... That article is from back in 2010. I now have a Canon 3Ti that I've had for several years now with 3 different lenses. I was with my sister last week at a fabric store and saw this blue suede fabric that looked like it might work nicely for photos, and was on $3.99 a yard. I got 2 yards and that is what is used for the backdrop in the photos in this and the last few posts.
