this 1 has the Norway coat of arms shield on the handle. made in the mid 60s I believe. it is a Wald Solingen knife. the shield symbol was used by monarchs and some government officials in Norway.
this knife is probably extremely rare. im not sure how ERN ended up making this handle for Norway, but I bet its a specially ordered product.
id been watching it for a few months and finally got it to a price that im still not very happy with. ive taken a chance on this 1 gaining value with more age. its a nice different knife that adds some real interest to my collection. im sure, itll be a very very long time before any one other than my son will even have an option to own. god willing, of course.
Hey, Andy, nice lookin' knife........ Do you what the handle material is? [;>)
I think its a bake lite handle... what ever that is. ive heard similar types referred to as such.
Hi, I actually have one of these knives and yours is the only one I've seen like it. My grandad had his with him when he was in Aden in WW2 so your date is a little our I think. I can't add photos in a comment but mine doesn't have the coat of arms it has a knight in a suit of armour holding a two handed sword in gold. Thank you for actually being able to tell me the manufacturer, I've been trying to research it and I've failed for nearly 10 years
