    This item is about 1 1/4 in diameter.It look of swirl colors in it kind of a ivory texture. I found this digging in the dirt about 39 years ago.

      @Horace05, my research tells me that this is a 'cap badge' for either the Army or the Air Force..........they were plated metal (Zinc I think) and that is what gives the odd look now.........this must have been from at least the Viet Nam eraif you found it 39 years ago.........nice find..

      that would be nice but they are basically the same now as in WWII, here's a link, scroll down to "Enlisted Men" , I would need to dig to find my Cap but I'm sure the badge is the same from 1996..http://usarmyinsigniahomepage.110mb.com/cap_wwii.html

      Wait, scratch that, when I was in the National Guard we wore our Unit Crest on our Cap......
      It's tough to get old !
