My grandfather toured Blackwood Germany when he was in an archery tournament back in the 1940's. I am sure he is more famous than this tray is ,but would I like to learn more about this item so I can learn more about him and his travels. While he was in Germany he pickup a handful of items. One of them was this ashtray. Item number 24/5518. Looking to learn more. Fun Fact grandfather is still kicking at 100 years old. Joe Thornton of the Cherokee Tribe.

This is an interesting enamel and brass (yes, brass?) ash tray. There is not another one pictured on the web, and the numbers are most likely are the model number/design number of the ash tray. There is no way to track it down. Did grandfather buy it from a retail shop or a second hand shop? Or somewhere else? Happy to hear he's still alive and kicking!

This ashtray is made by MARZI & REMY.

I have the same ashtray, and you can find the maker's mark on the bottom.
