How about a little description? Size? Is it a ride-on? It is pedal driven? (It looks so, but can't be sure) Any marks on bottom? Anywhere? How long have you had it? Where did you get it? Does the horse move?
Show the bottom - post a second listing with additional pictures. Orient your pictures properly before uploading.
Does it turn with the reins? I see a spring under the seat -is that a spring on the front wheel? Looks like some kind of gypsy cart. It's fantastic. But we need MORE information. What kind of metal tubes are those? Are they hollow, or not?
Well, it looks like it's an antique child's pedal horse cart. Could be handmade.
Could also be called a sulky cart.
Or a sulky tricycle. OR Horse cart or carriage tricycle.
It looks like a Roman Chariot, not gypsy.
All I know is that it is freaking fantastic!! Is the horse solid wood?
Sorry about the rough post - just wanted to get something out there. Will work on getting a more informative post with more (properly oriented) pictures. But some quick answers (working from your first to last post....
-I don't believe the horse is completely solid. He may be hollowed in the middle, but he is made of wood. It looks as if, at one point, his head may have come off - there are seams all around the neck.
-I don't know what to call him. I've not found anything exactly like him during my research - he's not a tricycle, but a pedal cart (still functioning), and yes, the front wheel turns when you pull left or right on the reigns which are hooked to a steering bar behind his head. There is a metal spring under the seat and a spring under the front wheel.
-I, too, wonder if it is handmade. There are no markings on the horse except for the number 19 written underneath on the seat bar. Also, there is a pencil line under the seat marking the center line for the seat bracket screws.
-I don't know if the tubes are hollow...maybe. They are painted gold, though.
-I've owned it all of three hours now. I bought it from a gentleman in Gaithersburg MD who told me that it was his brother's from childhood and had been sitting in storage for quite a long time. He guessed a date of 1950, but I haven't the first notion (I don't think he really did either. He's probably dating it because of his brother's ownership) The picture on his post spoke to me and I wanted it. I'm guessing he's about 42" long, maybe 29 inches tall, and less than that wide. He is made mostly of wood.
That would be considered a 'tricycle' because it has three wheels, and you cycle it with pedals. (show the mechanical workings underneath). Look it up on google - you'll see some similar. Can't find one as spectacular as this!
That rear wood axel, does it cover metal axel? At that size, it would have to be for a really small kid, no? (Oh - you are guess the size?) Width?
You can post a second and even a third with extra photos.
If it's hand made & Oneof a kind - it's a spectacular piece of folk art. I can see the horse is made in pieces. I would have bought it in a heartbeat.
From what I can see in the the photos, I'm going to say it is a novelty or decor item. Based on the wood and finish my guess would be late 50's -70's. The wheels appear to be from a wooden tea cart and would never hold up pedaling this around. The rear axle support not being braced would also indicate that.
Close-up photos of hardware and assembly techniques would help.
It is a great looking cart.
Three wheels and pedals - yup, I guess that makes it a tricycle. Going back to the selling post, it is 42 inches long, 21 inches wide and 26 inches tall. It weighs 44 pounds. It is toddler-sized - but I will say you'd have to be a heavy toddler at this point to get that seat to settle. The spring and bar are pretty tight. It has also definitely been ridden. The rubber on the tires is pretty worn. Posted second set of pictures... on to the third.
I hate to interrupt Celiene, but throw in an extra LUV from me because it is also anti-gravity.
Studying this more closely, I'm going to say, I think this is well designed & made fantasy piece . The proportions seem a bit off for a production piece. Well made & Luv it still !
All - four more posts with more - correctly oriented - photos.
Posted on one of your others postings, but from what I see it looks like a lot of FANTASY (modern made) pieces that I have encountered over the last 20- 30 years.

OMG! Scott agrees with me on something ! I can die a , (hey, that's BS). A happy man dies in the saddle & I'm getting to old to even care about that clause ! LOL !
