Was wondering if anyone knew who the man in the photo is. The photo looks to date from the 19c and he is wearing a fringed western coat with beads around his neck. Could be Indian Beads. I keep thinking he looks familiar, that I have seen his face somewhere, like a younger photo of a famous western cowboy or even outlaw, or from his clothing he could of be involved in one those old Wild West Shows (Buffalo Bill, etc..). The photo is a larger on measuring 7" x 12". Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look and for any information you might have. : )

      He resembles Ed Sheeran.
Not possible that anyone here would have an inkling of who the man is in the photo. :-)))

His pinky ring has a "W" on it, so William?? It would be one in a billion shot that anyone would know who this person is..it would have to be a Relative to just happen to mpop on CW and say, Thats My ??? Kewl Pic!!

I tried enhancing the ring, but it's not clear enough for me to make out the design.

I know it is probably not possible but wanted to see just by chance if someone might have additional information. I thought maybe from the type of clothing it might give some information. Was thinking maybe he could of been part of a western shows of late 1800's they used to put on (Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, etc.) or maybe a younger photo of a well known westerner. Thanks for the info on the ring having a "W" Dizzydave, appreciate it. Thank you too Efesgirl for taking a peek at the photo.

Looks like some of the people who came into my club in Negril, Jamaica in the 70's ! LOL !! The "W" would probably stand for Wiped-out or Without. LOL !

      Welcome.
His face didn't come up in a Google Image search - only the face of Ed Sheeran. :-)))

      The necklaces might be wampum.

Don't recognize the image. I was wondering, though, if the image might actually be of a woman. The features have some feminine qualities. Just mentioning as a possibility.

Thank you blunderbuss2 for taking a peek at the photo. I bet the outfit would remind you of the 70's blunderbuss-that jacket alone : )

I don't recognize him as a Western figure or member of a wild west show.

The image does look to be late 19th century and the size is VERY large (and expensive).

I am not certain that this is a US figure-- could be something from Europe, where subject tried to evoke a Western feel.

Hi Scott, Thanks so much for the input. I didn't even think of it being possibly european - this gives me another avenue to check out. I thought this photo was larger than the normal ones I see too and definitely looks to be late 19th as you indicated. Appreciate you taking time to comment on it. Thanks again, Theresa

The Wild West Shows were a huge success throughout the world in the late 19th century, so it isn't that unusual to find someone outside of the West (US) wearing the clothing.

Something about the image size and the guy in particular strikes me as European. Of course, my feelings are not always accurate!
