This is a ceramic plate that is 15 1/2 inches in diameter. I do not know what the name is on the front of the plate, the letters are a little different. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Sena Vetus - Ancient Siena.
The city is Siena.
Around the border are the images of the divisions or 'contrade' of the ancient town.
You should read more about these 'contrade' - where you were born in the town determines your affiliation to a contrada. This is celebrated in the famous Palio horse race held in the city twice each year.
There are 17 'contrade' :
BRUCO
DRAGO
GIRAFFA
ISTRICE
LUPA
OCA

The white and black shield at the top of the plate is the coat of arms of the city of Siena. "According to local legend, Siena was founded by Senius and Aschius, two sons of Remus and thus nephews of Romulus, after whom Rome was named. Supposedly after their father's murder by Romulus, they fled Rome, taking with them the statue of the she-wolf suckling the infants (Capitoline Wolf), thus appropriating that symbol for the town. Additionally they rode white and black horses, giving rise to the Balzana, or coat of arms of Siena with a white band atop a dark band. " https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siena
