I found this in the little antique store in NH yesterday too. I'd love to know more about it. What are these metal trinkets called? Why is it so stiff that it doesnt hang well?

This is interesting, very cool. To lend answer to your question, maybe it was restrung at some point with wire. I don't know why anyone strings anything with that stuff. It's got to have a purpose for some things tho that I'm just not aware of. Even fishing line gets that way too. Almost unruly. Nice piece there. Maybe someone will come along and give you an answer to time and locale instead of me and my opinion! haha
