This item was found by the side of the road by someone who then sold it to me for a small amount.
I have no idea what it is (besides a belt buckle) and I haven't been able to find it online. I would like to know if it is worth more than I paid the guy so I can pay him the difference (he needs the cash more than I do).
    Ideas anyone?

Looks like a patriotic buckle from WW2.

I am not familiar with the maker-- could be Chinese characters.

The Eagle and globe might be a representation of the USMC symbol-- together (maker characters/ symbol) suggests that it may have been a theater purchased souvenir by a service member.

      Thanks, Scottvez
That is an interesting possibility. I tried searching for that type of thing for about 30 minutes after you suggested it, but no luck so far.

I agree with everything Scott wrote except for the USMC speculation - Eagle, part of a globe, but no anchor?
