Just judging from the small number that have turned up, relatively few were produced, they created a sensation when the first one mint in the box turned up at Brimfield and was bought for $6,000 before ending up in the collection of Hy Brown.

Yes, a friend of mine bought the watch and then sold it to Hy Brown who has it in his hardback book with the story of it and the collection he put together. Pedre
came out with a copy of it and if you look for Pedre Donald Duck wristwatch you
can see it or find a copy of Hys book and see the original.

Yes, I just looked on the Internet and you can find photos of the Pedre Copy, and I
suppose you could use a Pedre box to display your watches if you wanted since only
one original box has ever turned up to my knowledge

Hello WARWAGON64 I looked at 1949 dodge roadsters o the internet since I am not familiar with that car. What I could tell and read on the side windows that they are in chrome frames that set in some type of mounting holes on the doors. The bottom channel is straight and the upper channel is one piece from the front bottom corner at windshield to the bottom rear corner at the rear of the door and follows the shape of the top bows. It has corner pieces at the bottom corners the are screw into the channel around the glass. To make a channel like that you need to find a metal channel that will have a channel wide enough for the glass and the glass tape that hold the glass it the channel ( very similar to tri5 chev.) The channel will also need to be thick enough to drill and tape for the corner brackets. To bend a channel to fit the top bows you need to have a piece of steel plate cut to fit the shape of the curve of the top and the plate has to be as thick as the glass an glass tape (glass 1\4 tape 1\16 x 2 =5\8 in inside of the channel) . Once you have the desired metal shape and correct channel you would tack weld one end of the channel to the shaped plate and heat with an oxy torch and slowly bend the channel to the shape. You need to leave a lot of extra on the channel to pull on while heating and shaping. You might need to hammer the side of the channel in the heat and bend time to keep it flat. Then finish with metal files so it will get rid of any marks from shaping and hammering an then have them chromed. I hope this helps you. To see some of the cars with the windows in I googled the car and selected images. Sorry it took long for an answer I am in Calif. and do not turn computer on every day. If I can be any more help I will Thanks Mickey

Hey WARWAGON64 I am in Brentwood Ca. about an hour form Sac. I am not to much into tri 5s but have restored 2 57s for customers. One from Sac and one from Concord. I am more into pre 50s. I have a 1948 Ford Conv. custom and 5 others yet started. ( won't live long enough to finish all l.o.l). Am working on a 1970 Chev. 4\4 steep side, 1946 Ford 2dr sedan, and 1940 Chev. coupe (high end car) right now. If I can help my # is 925-515-7637, I am retired from my business now. good luck Mickey
