Hi there, i've recently come into possession of this bronze figure of a dancer.
Judging by the patina it has some age, stylistically i'm not quite sure how it would be categorized. It is approx 8" high and is missing its plinth. It's signed, indistinctly, either AR / AZ.
Anyway, I like it and if anybody has any ideas about its origins I would appreciate their comments!
Cheers
Signed conjoined AR is Arthur Rubenstein Foundry, Vienna
Dizzy, thanks for that, I was thinking it was the initials of the artist rather than the foundry!
Cheers
Looks like it was mounted on a marble stand at one time?
I think so, there don't seem to be any other identifying marks on it, think i'll get it mounted and stick it on the mantelpiece. I don't know when the AR foundry ceased production but i'm thinking this maybe dates from the 30's?
