I have a vintage 1970's copper corset belt - signed, Renoir; great details with mesh closure that is meant to be at the back; details include main wide portion as a matte finish copper with shiny copper horizontal band and vertical pieces with copper studs. This belt is "S" for small.
It is part of a vast collection of items from my late mothers inventory.

It's a belt - a vintage belt. Renoir of California.
If you want it to stay in excellent condition, keep it away from the grandkids.

      ;-))))

      Market for costume jewelry

Collectors pay top dollar for Renoir and Matisse pieces in the characteristic copper and copper/enamel design styles. The market is hot for costume jewelry. For a Matisse set including a brooch with matching earrings when correctly identified, collectors pay $200 to $400. Select individual pins can command $100 on the vintage jewelry market for these costume jewelry pieces from the post-war years.

Thanks Bonnie, but who would want to wear this type of belt? It can't be comfortable even for a very skinny person...

I guess I need to let the grand kids tell me more about these items I have - they know more about them than I do....

It's a designer piece - sometimes that's enough motivation for someone to wear it no matter how uncomfortable it might become. The same for those totally ridiculous shoes you see models wearing on the catwalk. High like skyscrapers. Good ankle breakers!

      Thanks Bonnie!
