So you would not want to drop this vase on your toe. I swear it weighs a ton, maybe ten pounds, and only stands at 6 inches. From what I can see through the bottom, the core is amethyst glass, outside is a thick clear coat and it has those pushed in and up indents all over. It's dark but translucent when looked at closely. Small ruffled opening at the top. Slight but certain shelf wear, whoever owned this vase before took good care of it. Art glass, but no mark or signature. Anyone know who made it? All ideas, thoughts, theories, welcome. Thanks for looking.

MYSTERY SOLVED: " it's an Aseda decanter without the clear stopper. They came in quite a few colors." Thanks so much, swfinluv!!

I'm pretty sure it's an Aseda decanter without the clear stopper. They came in quite a few colors.

Great find Katherine and good even without the stopper.
This is usually attributed to Borgstrom, Sean but I am pretty sure it was actually a Börne Augustsson design.

      ill look in my book!!
    10. swfinluv1 swfinluv1, 8 years ago
Yup, it's by Augustsson. Mid to late 1940's on the design.

      Thanks for the love, NevadaBlades, brunswick, swfinluv1, sklo42, mikelv85, vetraio50, SEAN68, and racer4four. :)

Thanks, Sean, it is a stunner, I had to have it. :)

Karen, now how did you know that about Augustsson??? Don't tell me you're an expert in Swedish glass, too??? lol ;)

Thanks again, swfinluv, and for verifying Karen's further information, greatly appreciated. :)

I had a bit of an Aseda collection for a while. Sold some, the rest in boxes waiting for me to sell it. Still love it!
