I have a client that has a large collection of model trains. I am hoping someone can direct me to the most comprehensive place for researching these little beauties. Any help would be appreciated. The one on the far left it a Toby made in Japan. The problem I am running into is that there are so many with different "names" on the sides.

You could also look up "old metal trains" and go from there. Maybe you could mention some of the names here that you see on the sides. Are there names on the bottom?
Thank you dizzy & passion. There are only a few makers on the bottoms of them.
Looks like these are brass locomotives that go for big money. 1st one is a 2-6-2T, #2 is a Shay drive. Then we have a 2-6-0 and wrapped up with a 2-8-2. Put brass HO 2-6-2T in your search and see what comes up.
