It didn't take long to find out that this is a Punch Bowl stand. It was manufactured in 1909 by the Imperial Glass Company. It is #404, Hobstar and arches.
Thank you for the tip from Nutsabotas6, I had no idea it was a Punch bowl stand.
all I can say is....really? I'll look it up.
Tip of the day goes to Nutsabotas6 for the stellar tip that led me to the truth. It is indeed a Punch Bowl stand, made in 1909 by the Imperial Glass company #404. Thank you very much Nuts. d.
yes, punch base/stand; my brain wants to turn it over. the' Imperial Glass Hobstar and Arches
No knowledge at all about this piece. Merely asking - could it also double as a cake stand??
IF the base of a plate were made to fit into the top of the stand it could work to elevate a plate but I not aware of plate made to fit that way. Punch stands are often repurposed as vases (used upside down) but could also be shelf standards.
Thanks to both of the Cakes for the interest in my Punch stand.
Thanks for the info TallCakes!
