Shoe shine box primitive

One of my most cherished items. It's not perfect, which to me makes it better. I got it at an estate auction. The gentleman who made it also made furniture. You could tell this was either an early project or rushed. It's quite functional but doesn't have the detail of his other works. I'm betting he made it for his use and just needed it to work.
