Large art deco yellow glass bowl?

Im always on the lookout for creative plant saucers and pots that are not meant to be such. I found this at our local thrift store the other day and loved its design. It appears to be art deco in shape, very large and heavy with a lovely golden color. Im not sure if it was meant to be kitchen ware, if it originally had a cover, or if it's crystal and meant to be art glass. Any ideas from my glass expert friends?
