Here's a beautiful Austrian vase with Egyptian motif. Can't find the mark in Kovel's Dictionary of Marks. Can you help? Incised AUSTRIA 7207 with another incised mark, perhaps a version of the beehive? Stamped with a symbol (lion or something) in a circle of stars. THANKS to you Mystery Solvers!!!
It os by Julius Dressler 0f Biela (near Teplitz) - therefore the D and B.
There is the same mark on ebay "19th C Bohemian Austrian Julius Dressler Majolica Humidor Scarce Venezia Pottery".
"In the early years of the 20th century, Dressler produced a number of pieces of Egyptian Revival, both in majolica and terra cotta. These works are extremely desirable and harder to find, but well worth searching for. Little is known of Dressler after 1910, but it appears that his factory marks were used up until 1945."

Thanks Vetraio50! Indeed that's the mark; interesting article too. I saw this interesting item in an antique store but it was unidentified. It raised my curiosity but I didn't succeed in any of my searches. I like the learning and it's fun to make an I.D. when I can. The piece is rather lightweight so I wasn't sure if it was antique or a 'fake'. Thanks for the education! Joey
