I got this at a charity (thrift) shop a couple of weeks ago, and I thought I might have to sell it or swap the strap as it would not fit!
I was lucky to find some spare links from a Zodiac SST I used to have, but in gold plate. It still needs more buffing to get rid od the last of the plate, but after adding these and cutting a little off the internal flat spring (clasp is a divers type expanding one), it made a comfortable fit.
I saw a replacement NSA genuine Tissot vintage NOS bracelet exactly like this one, but at £225 it was a bit rich for my blood!
It dates to 1979, and the PR stands for ''Particularly Robust''.
I'm a big fan of vintage mechanical wind-up watches, ~ I have 5 so far ~ but also like older quartz watches. Own 2 SEIKOs, a silver tone from 1979 and a gold tone from 2000, both purchased new in the year of production. Your TISSOT looks great, Bob! Just a bit more work on that link and it'll be perfect! Glad you like the watches KJ, I have something over 130 of them myself...
I know, let's do a collection swap, my watches for your knives! LOL!
Wait until you see my next post, it is a good one...
