Let me told you a story,,,,,last week i was shopping on line on an auction site when i see what i believe will be a great addition to my Bohemian Glass collection, actually a perfect match to go with my LOETZ Ausfuehrungen vase.
A 12 inch tall flute vase, a very attractive confetti decor with inner green layer glass, cobalt Blue base, A BEAUTY
The auction was live and running but no bid was place on this vase yet, so good opportunity available to ask the seller if he will agree to relisted with a good BUY IT NOW offer( I WILL NEVER EVER DO THIS AGAIN), my first offer was decline, so i made another offer and this one was accepted, the seller agree to relisted at my offer price, from there everything when smoothly, the seller provided is address, I send my payment express post 3 day's delivery , and suddenly the following week-end I receive and email from the auction site claiming that the seller have cancel the transaction, and the following Monday my payment arrived and the seller refused it( so payment send it back to me ( still wait for my refund payment ).
I post this vase without having it, because i want to share this sad story, since my adhesion to this site(2001) this never happen to me before, I have to mention this vase have 16 Watcher when the seller relisted, i believe some out there have not appreciated this action, this is not over since I discover that at the moment when the seller cancel the transaction he claiming having problem with my address, humm, strange since my registration and many transaction in the past years prove differently, investigation on is way.
I have all the proof, many email, invoice for the payment, Both address ME and the SELLER, my tracking number, the refuse status from Canada Post, very confident of the possible conclusion, but still very sad of all this.
I will remove this post if the conclusion run not in my favour.
Thanks Everyone for Viewing.
Alan
Shit happens !
Hopefully he sticks to his word and gives you the vase:)
Sadly enough, this kind of thing happens all the time. I had something very similar happen to me a few years back when the seller went for a month without responding to my messages and eventually closed his account on eBay without ever shipping my item. Took me forever to finally get my refund. Hope it eventually works out for you Alan.
Still worse is when your watching an item with the intention of making a bid and someone suggests to the buyer that they go for a Buy it Now price and they sell for less than you would have paid in a fair auction. I'm not saying I haven't done exactly what you did here Alan, but technically it's against most online auction rules. You win some, and you lose some, at least you got the refund. I'd let it go and put it down to experience.
That's terrible Alan. So sorry this happened to you. Hope you get your money back.
This crap happens, hopefully if you get enough auctions that go through - you can redeem your hope that most people are good to their word. I think if i didn't get burned every once in a while -collecting wouldn't be as much fun. Imagine going back to the old days of collecting where you would book 1-2 days extra on to business trips, checking in to antique malls in the area, leaving numbers with stores in case dealers had the "good stuff" they might want to sell....going to auctions and staying for both days and eating awful fried foods... Dealing with pickers that would make you buy in large sets with chipped pieces... etc- No thank you!! By the way very interesting Signature probably kralik right?
bb2--> all the time, I should learn something from that adventure,Hopefully.
trey-->That's my big wished
Scott--> Sorry to hear, that's happen to you, well hopefully this gone be over soon.
philmac51-->I could't more agree with you, and for sure I have a big lesson on this one.
kralik1928-->No, i've take a break for fews month from auction, I become crazy in the past year, as you know, and this one was the first and turn bad, because i could't content my excitement and wait for the auction follow it's end.
YES,,The acid mark, it's what attract me in the first place, but the decor at the beginning remind me my LOETZ -Ausfuehrungen-237-, I guess you probably right, for the Kralik possible attribution, i did't find any mark like this one for a LOETZ glass.
Many thanks to all of you for the comment and the love, much appreciated that you take some of your time to stop by, also for your constant support.
Regards
Alan
