This one is extremely unusual, see if you can tell me why!
It is a watch by Penneys, I would guess from the style that it is from the 1950's. It has a 2-jewel Japanese movement and keeps very good time. It also has an alarm, but no seconds hand.
The strap is a well-made leather one, no makers marks though. Gold plated and in very good condition.
I will post again regarding this wrist watch, with some more clues as to it's strangeness!

hi dont mind can explain what 2 jewel japanese movement means?
    2. NevadaBlades, 8 years ago
Hmmm? Maybe I'm mistaken, but isn't that a seconds hand? ~ over the marker for 6 in the first photo and over the marker for 5 in the last photo??? [;>)

@fleafinder, it means that it has a mechanical movement made in JAPAN that uses two jewels as bushes in it, to make the watch ''axles'' move smoothly.

@KJ, that is the hand for adjusting the alarm timer, not a seconds hand.

      Give in yet? ;-)

strangeness or oddity: That it can worn either way on the wrist and not be upside down???

No, I think my next post will make all clear...

I see. So, then, the alarm is set for 6 o'clock in the first photo and just before 5 o'clock in the last photo??? How is the alarm turned "on", by pulling out the winder? And then you turn "off" the alarm by pushing in the winder???

Sorry KJ, no cigar! Go look at my new post, all is revealed...
