Would love help in identifying the artist/maker of this piece. It is made of 18K gold, very detailed. He acquired it at an estate sale and paid quite a lot of money for it. This gorgeous piece is very, very unusual. It looks Greek? with body parts dangling from what looks like a temple. Any insight as to who the artist is would be greatly appreciated. It marked on the back with a symbol. Thanks for your help!
Not Greek. The symbol on the back is the Eye Of Horus (Third Eye), which is Egyptian. There is no Assay mark, which means this pendant is not a registered piece.
Someone at this website can probably offer you more info at their Help Central:

I would think it may be higher than 18k, perhaps 22k...

Thanks so much Efesgirl and TubeAmp! That's some great information!
Hi,
Unfortunately, it`s most likely gold plated. Conclusive acid testing is possible only if superficial gold layer is filed deep enough to reach base metal. Gold should be properly marked, even then one cannot be sure and let alone at estate sales. Egyptian gold plated jewelry has flooded the market (lapis lazuli included).
