This is one of my favorite pieces. It is handcarved. I call it a hutch, but it may be a china cabinet. The shelf inside has grooves for standing up plates, but obviously the door is solid so it's not very good for displaying anything. I don't know much about it. I thought if anyone recognized the design or style and could offer some info, I would appreciate it.

    2. Stever39, 14 years ago
Sorry, it's not for sale. It's one of my favorites. I just don't know much about it and I'm hoping somebody out there may have some information. Years ago, someone mentioned a specific designer, but I didn't write the name down.

Being that it has a dark stain over it take a flashlight to it and see if it reveals anything.

the carved design looks very Pennsylvania Dutch to me. Is it oak? Are there any marks on the bottom or inside drawer?

I found a name on the back, Frank Wood F Co Wayne Mi. I couldn't find anything when I googled it. It is mostly oak.
