So I bought a large lot of vintage postcards for a bargain price, a first for me. What I noticed as I was going through the cards were the number written to sweepstakes contests on television shows back in the early 50s. Postcard companies must have made a mint on all those folk sending in their entries in the hopes of winning prizes. It was sad enough to me thinking about all the people disappointed when they didn't win, but the one above really got me in the heart. It says, in child-like writing, "I will like to win this for mother she has 8 children." Signed by a Miss Barbara Jean Davis, bless her cotton socks.
