The first picture is the seat before replacement. The second replaced but unfinished it is in the 3X3 Herringbone pattern. The third is the chair finished I did not have to replace the back just touch it up with white paint. The fourth is the bottom of the chair witch is done in 5X5 Herringbone for strength. The Herringbone weave looks very similar to the Finger Lakes Fan weave. But the front to back weave is different (In the Finger Lakes Fan weave there are open spaces between some of the front to back wraps to account for the fact that the front rail is longer than the back rail In the Herringbone the fact that the front rail is longer then the back rail is addressed by weaving the center of the seat then filling in the open triangular sides or gussets with individual short pieces cane or reed or what ever the seating material is.) The finger lakes fan weave is a pattern that is pretty much only found in the Finger Lakes area of Upstate N.Y. where I live and believe me the furniture dealers up here know the difference.
